selfish insight of the day

I just realized that how much I like someone is pretty much always directly correlated to how much they like me.

Is this true for you?

Yup. Because my likelihood of being told I'm awesome (in whatever form it may take) is much greater with someone who thinks I'm cool. Truth.

This is likely related--for me, how much I like someone is connected to how well they treat me.

I've been burned by enough "friends" to be rather cautious.

So you are saying you like me. A LOT.

I don't know if there's a direct correlation, but knowing someone else thinks I'm awesome can definitely get me off the fence about them.

I don't know - how much do you like me??? Because I like you lots.

Yup.

This also succinctly explains my high school dating habits.

I particularly like people who own ipads because I have one. And I'm hardly obnoxious at all...!

This is true for me with everyone except law professors. I'm pretty sure I like them a lot more than they like me.

Your observation becomes a problem when it comes to parenting, because I think it's true then too.

Not necessarily for me. I like many people who don't know me... but perhaps that's not the same?

Though, I will say I find I like less those who don't like me.

Well, you must like me a lot!

Isn't that human nature and well, fairly sane? I try not to waste energy on people who don't like me. I'm not hostile, but why try to be besties with somebody who isn't interested?
