the latest

What's the latest? Why, I'm glad you asked!

I made bread.

Myself.

Intense, I know. Next thing you know I'll be planning elaborate party favors for cute little baby girls turning one. Just kidding. That will never happen. But you know what I mean. Maybe this is one step closer to MCB taking me under her sewing wing. Clips! Pillows! Dresses! Curtains! Petticoats! Who knows!? The sky's the limit now that I'm making bread!

In other news, our kid is walking. Well, practically. Zombie steps here and there, but I think it counts. She gets the giggles these days and loves oranges, things with wheels, and minorities. Today it was hot so I took off her socks and shoes, so not only was she barefoot but she also had a runny nose. This makes for the cutest street urchin ever to roam the halls of the J Reub!

And speaking of school, IT IS MY LAST WEEK OF LAW SCHOOL. Can you believe it? I know, I know, some of us thought this day would never come, but here it is so let us rejoice and give thanks. There is but one big fat paper and one big fat final between me and freedom, if by freedom you mean studying for the bar. And guess who else is almost done with school, though he has a couple more weeks left than I do? Husband! So, yep, that's pretty great.

Okay, but seriously, back to the bread. I MADE IT. Like, kneaded it (seems like past tense should be kned) and everything. No gadgets. Just me and the flour, like Mother Eve (or whoever). Who knew it was a) so easy and b) so tasty?? Do you guys have OTHER such information that would have been useful like ten years ago?

Other information?

1. Always use real whipping cream.

2. Bake real cake, from scratch, boxed mixes suck.

3. Basically, almost everything is better when you make it yourself.

4. Buy Brown Cow yogurt.

5. Babies are awesome. And then they turn into toddlers who are awesomer.

6. But graduating from school is the awesomest.

Wow. Even I've never actually made bread. The man has but not me. I'm impressed.

Good luck with your final and studying for the bar.

Favorite line: "She... loves oranges, things with wheels, and minorities." Bread??? I'm so proud of you. I have a stack o' papers and cardstock and a Cricut machine when you are ready to make cards :).

Dang it! I was going to make bread for your baby's birthday. Guess I'll go back to the ol' drawing board...

Q: Whole wheat, or white?

So, what tipped you off that she likes minorities? I'm curious to know. :o)

Congrats on the almost being done with school! And the BREAD!! Thats amazing. I have never even thought about attempting that. Way to domestic for me. I don't even cook dinner!

Woo hoo! Congrats on the bread. John Lennon did that too, during his domestic period in the late seventies. Then he got p.o.'d because nobody gave him a medal or something. They just ate the bread.

Next, you gotta try pizza crust and rolls. I have recipes if you want 'em!

And enjoy the baby. Congrats on completing law school! Good luck with the bar.

Baby, bread, law school--terrific!

One famous Mormon woman learned to make bread. It was a tempting treat. A few years later she announced she had just learned she didn't have to eat it (as in the whole loaf). ha-ha.

Happy B-day to the little darling, and congratulations on Law School. I am so impressed.
